Don’t Judge Me
Yes, I know.
I didn’t even start any of the projects discussed in my previous cloth post.
I swear there was a legitimate reason for me to hop over to nippori tomato on my day off a couple weeks ago, but for the life of me I cannot recall it.
What I do recall is the beautiful, and relatively inexpensive, linen in royal blue and striped red and blue that I picked up.
Or the luscious silver silk I decided I needed in order to maintain ordinary respiration. I mean look at it. **Sighs dreamily**
Ahem.
So I do, in fact, have some notions on how to use these fabrics. As part of my ongoing linen-obsession, I have been wishing to sew comfortable shorts with a paperbag waistband or culottes.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around culottes in general. I own a couple wide legged pants in thinly pleated fabrics with an elastic waistband, but a constant source of frustration is my unflattering stomach, so I tend to be wary of high-waisted, structured garments. Not sure if I would draft my own pattern or buy a pleated culotte pattern that appeals to me.
In my previous cloth post, I mentioned the idea of turning the georgette velvet into a bias dress with a front and back cowl. But I am thinking to make that design for the silver silk instead. Somehow this year I have potentially two weddings to attend, with one coming up in May. Ideally, I would draft and sew up a bias dress for this occasion. We shall see…
